EN :Today the considered industrial area of Porto Marghera offers a
consolidated texture of urban low-quality which is almost completely
filled.
The design process began with a general placement of the area
by means of a 10 k long circuit, that of the Florence marathon,
which develops along the city, incorporating historic monuments
and places of cultural interest. Through the circuit the foundamental
characteristics of the considered area have been
detected: florentine monuments have been here represented by
the silos and the skeletons of the industrial buildings.
During the placement phase the invariants have been analysed:
the morphological ones – like the strategic industrial buildings,
which will become monuments – and the environmental ones –
like the green areas, contaminated by the industrial activity.
These green areas wil be expanded and adapted to the chosen
route, turning the idea of a monofunctional area to a polofunctional
one, with new usages related and compatible with the
industrial destination.
The building itself was thought out referring to two different
typologies of structures, the wall and the crane, richly present in
Porto Marghera.
The circuit then developed determining the matrix of the 10 k
building which will be the foundation of a new scenary for the
future. The interior park represents a big green lung, around
which the “new city” will develop, alongside the circuit perimeter.
The ground floor presents a purely logistic industrial feature,
while the housing units are placed on top, on a reticular structural
mesh of steel, sustained by mechanical arms.
The park forms a continuous carpet plan, on which the “high
houses” float; the function of the green area is not merely
aesthetic, nor merely landscaping beauty, but it’s also less CO2,
it’s coolness, positive climatic conditions, and even a way to
bring back what in that place had been stolen to the nature.
IT: La zona industriale di Porto Marghera presa in considerazione
presenta oggi un tessuto consolidato di scarsa qualità urbana e
quasi completamente saturo.
L’iter progettuale è partito da un inquadramento generale della
zona per mezzo di un circuito lungo 10 K, quello della mezza
maratona di Firenze - che si sviluppa lungo la città inglobando
monumenti storici e luoghi di interesse culturale, – e attraverso
il quale si sono rilevate le caratteristiche fondamentali dell’area
considerata: i monumenti di Firenze sono qui rappresentati dai
silos e dagli scheletri degli edifici industriali.
Durante la fase di inquadramento, si è passati all’analisi delle
invarianti: quelle morfologiche, ovvero gli edifici industriali
strategici, che diventeranno monumenti, e quelle ambientali,
ovvero le aree verdi contaminate dall’attività industriale, che
verranno ampliate e adattate al percorso scelto, ribaltando l’idea
di area monofunzionale verso quella polifunzionale, con nuovi
usi connessi e compatibili con la destinazione industriale.
L’edificio vero e proprio è stato elaborato facendo riferimento a
due tipologie di strutture, la muraglia e la gru, presente in
abbondanza a Porto Marghera.
Il circuito si è quindi evoluto determinando la matrice dell’ edificio
di 10 K che costituirà le fondamenta di un nuovo scenario
rivolto al futuro. Il parco interno rappresenta un grande polmone
verde attorno al quale di sviluppa la “nuova città” lungo il
perimetro del circuito: il piano terra presenta un carattere industriale
prettamente logistico, mentre le unità abitative si collocano
al di sopra, su di una maglia strutturale reticolare in acciaio
sostenuta da bracci meccanici.
Il parco forma un tappeto vegetale continuo sul quale fluttuano
le "case alte"; la funzione del verde non è soltanto estetica, non
è solo bellezza paesaggistica, è anche meno CO2, è anche frescura,
è anche positive condizioni climatiche, ed è anche uno strumento
per riportare indietro quello che lì era stato rubato alla
natura.
